porsche club of america riverside region official club website

Welcome to the Riverside Region of the Porsche Club of America. Our club represents the Riverside, San Bernardino and Imperial counties of Southern California extending into the high desert north towards Las Vegas and south throughout the southern deserts and Palm Springs. We have one of the largest geographical areas of the 13 PCA regions in the PCA Zone 8 area of Southern California and represent approximately 650 members.

Every month we have a permanently scheduled breakfast event on the 1st Saturday of the month in a central location within the region. Our activity calendar also usually fills up the remainder of the month with tours, autocrosses, tech sessions, and after breakfast events.

We hope to see you at one of our numerous events soon. Even if you are not yet a member of PCA, come on by and “kick some tires” and join the fun!

February 2012,

porsche of america riverside region president Jim LaMonica Members,

With the passing of January and the ending of a cool and wet month, February promises to bring not only some much needed warmth and sunshine, but also marks the beginning of the coming year's club activities.

As always, the first month of the year is a busy one for me. Along with Al Burstiner, I attended the Zone 8 Presidents meeting in Brea, I had yearly reports to fill out for PCA National plus get the website up to date with the schedule events proposed at the last breakfast. I would mention that the proposing and planning event is not just a beginning of the year activity but is actually a yearlong trend, so if you are having some thoughts feel free to get the word out. To help in this regard you will see a new page on the club website in the left hand side navigation panels. Titled “Tour Help” the link will take you to a page where the club’s Event Tour Chair – Bob Vose has put together some very useful tips to help organize your event. So be sure to check it out and feel free to contact either Bob or myself if you have any questions or concerns. Finally, the club’s board had their first meeting of the year, the minutes of which will be published on the website very soon.

Racing into February, you will see the first Tech & Talk of the year held at Precision Motion will be on the third Thursday. After the monthly club breakfast there will be a tour through the area back roads which will end at the Jackalope Ranch. Of course once the ranch is reached the fun continues with the Desert European New 911 Launch.

Speaking of the club breakfast, held the first Saturday of every month at the Farm House Restaurant in Banning, we had one of the largest turnouts in quite a while and I hope that is a sign that this coming year we will see a record number of you out there in Porsche land come and join in the fun.

So as you can see 2012 is shaping up nicely and entices you all to come out and enjoy the fun.

See you on the road.
