Friday morning we all met at Carrow's for breakfast prior to leaving for Primm. Prior to leaving Yucca Valley we all stopped at
the Yucca Valley airport to view the plane Jim & Deb would be flying to Primm, as we were told, this was the Porsche of flying
machines. You would not expect less from Jim now would you. Our next stop was Twentynine Palms for a quick fill up and away we
go to Kelso. The Kelso Train Depot has been turned into a museum with three floors of exhibits of the earlier years and the surrounding
community. The Depot is still an active train stop. From here we continued to Primm, NV traveling through the East Mojave Preserve via
some very Porsche friendly roads and enjoying the spectacular desert landscape. The weather could not have been better, very mild temperatures
for this time of year. Most of the trip was below 90 degrees. Friday evening we all met for a group dinner where we all enjoyed great
conversation, food & drink. These group gatherings are always fun, it is a time when you can really get to know each other and discover
common interest, places, schools and learn about each others family's.
Saturday morning we had been invited by the Las Vegas Region of PCA to join them for their monthly member's breakfast at Rio Secco Golf
Club in Henderson. We were welcomed and greeted by a number of very friendly members and enjoyed our time with them immensely. For those
wanting to participate in any of their driver education or open track series activities they would certainly welcome you. They hold these
events at Spring Mountain Motosports Ranch and run a 3.1 mile layout. Certified high performance driving instruction is offered free of charge, so
beginners and novices are welcome if this is your first time on a racetrack.
Saturday afternoon shopping, lounging, casino games were on the menu. Saturday evening several of us enjoyed the Gretchen Wilson concert.
By the way Jim, how did the system work??
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Titan Missile Tour, October 24, 2009.
