Welcome to the Riverside Region of the Porsche Club of America. Our club represents the Riverside, San Bernardino and Imperial counties of Southern California extending into the high desert north towards Las Vegas and south throughout the southern deserts and Palm Springs. We have one of the largest geographical areas of the 13 PCA regions in the PCA Zone 8 area of Southern California and represent approximately 650 members. Every month we have a permanently scheduled breakfast event on the 1st Saturday of the month in a central location within the region. Our activity calendar also usually fills up the remainder of the month with tours, autocrosses, tech sessions, and after breakfast events. |
Please refer often to this website and calendar for event information and updates, maps to events, and contact info. We can also help you with information about your car regarding service and club discounts available at the Porsche dealers, auto insurance companies, and independent service and parts vendors. We hope to see you at one of our numerous events soon. Even if you are not yet a member of PCA, come on by and “kick some tires” and join the fun! |

May 2012,
As we progress into May the symbolism of this month is one I always found interesting, not least of which are all the weird and wonderful events during the month. Take the 1st of the month, which could be celebrated if you happen to have shall we say... some left wing tendencies. Alternatively it is simply a public holiday to start off the summer season. Or if you are so inclined you can have a feast to celebrate St. Joseph. There are events throughout the month such as The Eurovision Song Contest in Europe (not good) and of course the classic Indy 500 motor race. For our club we also have reason to celebrate during this month as I am pleased to bring the news that in the latest issue of Panorama on Page 62 the club's recent event celebrating the launch of the new 991 is featured. I would like to take a moment to thank Al Burstiner for all his hard work in helping organizing this event and all the members who participated and volunteered. The article appearing in Panorama is a great way to bring this particular event full circle. This event I believe was a real milestone for our club and I hope it excites all of us to see what other events we can come up with and report to a national audience via Panorama. Also in the spirit of May celebrations I would like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to our club sponsors. Precision Motion, Desert Performance Motorsports, Specialized Porsche, Walter's Porsche, Desert European, 911 Design, Bud's Tire and Wheel, Pelican Parts, Master Shield and last but not least Performance Products. The connections we have with all these great local businesses are another great asset for us and I thank them all for helping us out. Lastly I would just mention that our next club breakfast is on May 5th at The Farm House Restaurant in Banning and the club has a board meeting scheduled for May 8th. Details for both these events can be found on the club website and everyone is welcome. In closing I hope this month's president's message illustrates the strength of your club and encourages you all to come out and take advantage of what your club can do for you. See you on the road and for you fans of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy enjoy Towel Day on the 25th.
