porsche club of america riverside region official club website

Welcome to the Riverside Region of the Porsche Club of America. Our club represents the Riverside, San Bernardino and Imperial counties of Southern California extending into the high desert north towards Las Vegas and south throughout the southern deserts and Palm Springs. We have one of the largest geographical areas of the 13 PCA regions in the PCA Zone 8 area of Southern California and represent approximately 650 members.

Every month we have a permanently scheduled breakfast event on the 1st Saturday of the month in a central location within the region. Our activity calendar also usually fills up the remainder of the month with tours, autocrosses, tech sessions, and after breakfast events.

Please refer often to this website and calendar for event information and updates, maps to events, and contact info.

We can also help you with information about your car regarding service and club discounts available at the Porsche dealers, auto insurance companies, and independent service and parts vendors.

We hope to see you at one of our numerous events soon. Even if you are not yet a member of PCA, come on by and “kick some tires” and join the fun!

February 2010

PCA Riverside Members,

porsche of america riverside region president Jim LaMonica I just returned home from a rainy breakfast meeting at the East Valley Golf Club. As you know every month, rain or shine, we meet for a breakfast buffet at the golf club. It's great when you drive your Porsche to the event, but it's not a requirement. I know that some of you have lived in Southern California way too long and don't like to drive your car in the rain and I fully understand. If you own another car (I'm sure you do) other than your Porsche, you can drive it to the event and still be eligible to have fun visiting your club friends, eating a great breakfast, hearing what is planned for future events, and participating in the raffle quiz for free stuff.

Speaking about eating, driving and having fun, your Riverside PCA board members are working hard doing just that. We recently visited the Highland Springs Resort in Cherry Valley to view the new venue planned for the annual Christmas event and for a sample tasting of the brunch menu planned for this year's party. It's always a difficult job eating waffles, omelets, bagels, lox, fresh fruit, and amazing home made pastries, etc. Touring the beautiful facility, which sits on approximately 200 acres of old oak trees and lavender fields was an added bonus. Rest assured that your elected representatives are constantly thinking about you and working on more great ways for you to have fun, and that we didn't take these jobs just for the fame and fortune promised. This year's Christmas party and brunch will be on Saturday, December 4, 2010. Put it on your calendars now so you don't miss it!!!

In about 3 weeks our first monthly edition of the Riverside PCA Bulletin will be finished and will be available on our club website and as a link to a pdf file which I will send out to you every month. You will be able to read it online or print it and carry it with you everywhere you go. It will include interesting articles about our club and photos so you will be able to relive the experience or see what you missed. If you are a writer, or even if your not, you are encouraged and welcome to contribute to the bulletin. Please keep an eye on the club calendar also, as more info and events are constantly being added to it throughout each month.

See you there!

Jim

Riverside Members,

Hopefully Santa was good to all of you and this message finds you well, relaxed and looking forward to a great new year mingling with all you Porsche friends. This reminder is to refresh your memory that the Riverside region will hold its monthly breakfast meeting at our usual location, the East Valley Golf Club in Beaumont. Tire kicking begins in earnest at 8:00 am with breakfast at 9.

Immediately following breakfast, we will hold our annual planning meeting. This is a group involvement and presentation event and your Board urges you to bring your ideas for events for the Club’s 2010 calendar. We want to hear from you as to your widely varied interests. So step up and put together an exciting event such as a tour, a rally, an autocross, or other driving event. Not all events need to directly relate to the exciting cars we drive. I will be outlining several upcoming track related events to try to get your ‘motors’ running in that arena.

Following the planning session, everyone is encouraged to caravan to the desert's newest Porsche repair shop, Desert Motorsports in Palm Desert, where we will be shown Jim Corbiel and Steve Floyd's new facility. I have already been there and can attest that it is a top notch location. Please plan on attending and cap off this first full day of Porsche activities.

See you there!

Paul
